Do you take credit cards?

Please explain your product sizes. We sell
material based on total volume. So for example, a 16oz unit is comprised of
8oz “A” and 8oz of “B”. The Quart unit is a pint of “A” and a pint of “B”
etc…………

What safety equipment should I use with these materials?
As with all chemicals, precautionary measures should be used when using
them. We recommend the use of rubber gloves and mixing tools which keep contact
to a minimum. Should general contact occur on your skin wash with soap and
water.

Which side is the resin and which is the hardener?
The “A” side is the resin side and the “B” side is the hardener.
|
What is cross contamination? Cross contamination
is were one takes material from one container and forgets to wipe the utensil
before dipping into the other container. What is left behind are soft lumps of
unusable material.

How critical is the mix ratio? Our materials are
formulated with enough fudge factor that a gram scale is not needed to make the
material cure. Just eyeball proper proportions and mix.

What items will your adhesive bond to? Our
products will bond to wood, carbon, Styrofoam, metal, glass, glass products,
granite, most plastics and composite materials. With proper surface preparation
these products will provide superior results.

How are the cure times predicated? Cure times
are based on a 100 gram mass cured at a temperature of 77 degrees F. So if the
temperature is warmer, one can expect a shorter cure time. If the ambient
temperature is cooler, expect a slower curing time. However, if the temperature
is below 55 degrees F the catalytic reaction almost ceases.

What is the proper method to mix the material? A
proper mix of the material yields an even uniform consistency and color . The
use of a mixing device which allows one to scrape up the material and lay it
back into itself is the most efficient way to mix . The biggest problem with
mixing the material with a swirl motion is that one tends to not completely
induct the material, the outer edges are never mixed in the mass. Usually poor
results are obtained with this method as there will be hard and soft spots.
We suggest one to use a spring steel artist palette knife for mixing. It is
flexible to allow the material to be scraped up cleanly off a flat surface and
laid back into itself numerous times. It should not take longer than 20 seconds
to mix the material thoroughly.

Surface preparation? Surfaces to be bonded need
to be free of grease, wax and oils. A light sanding to give the adhesive a
tooth to bite on, is required for non porous items such as granite, metal,
glass, and other epoxy items.

How do I make threads or make things removable? Grease waxes and oils act as a release agent. Just coat the item you wish
to remove with any household grease, wax or oil. Mix the material and submerge
the item in the wet material. Once cured the item should release from the cured
material with a little torque or pressure depending on the item.

Does temperature effect the cure time? Yes.
There are only two things, short of the resin design, that affect the cure
time of epoxy systems. Those two things are temperature and mass. The warmer
the ambient temperature the faster the cure. Also, the more mass mixed and
concentrated in an area the faster the cure will occur. The opposite also
applies, the colder the slower and the thinner the material is spread the slower
it will cure too.

How do I tint or color your product? Coloring the
material is simple with the use of tempera or chalk dust. Just mix it into the
material to achieve the desired color.

Why isn’t the material getting hard or curing?
Did you happen to mix two of the same side? It happens every once in awhile,
“We have done it” on occasion. Second thing to look at is what is the ambient
temperature? If it is cold that could be the problem. Put a heat lamp on it
and warm it up.

Will your material take some shock and abuse?
Yes, unlike many products on the market we have taken extra steps with our formulations so that our materials can withstand everyday use and abuse.

Can one machine the material after is has cured ?
Absolutely! One can machine our fast set materials within an hour of initial
cure without dulling their blades.
|
If I add more “B” side will the material cure faster? No.
Absolutely not! Epoxy systems are often confused with Polyester systems. The
fact lies………… the only things that will accelerate the cure time in an epoxy
system is temperature and mass. The only thing accomplished in adding more “B”
side is a weakening of the bond. If the proportions get too far out the
material will only partially cure and remain gummy.

What kind of shelf life can I expect? We
guarantee you the consumer a year. Providing one keeps their lids screwed on
and you do not cross contaminate. If you do those two things you can expect
numerous years of service.

If I am not going to use the material for awhile how
should I store it? If you are not going to use the material for
awhile store the material upside down. There is not a container
manufactured that dos not leak. Since Epoxies are petroleum
derivatives there is a flashing off of material after time. Since all
leaks occur at the lid, if one were to flip their containers bottom side up
one would create an airtight atmosphere where the air trapped.
We have retains that are over 10 years that still are useable.

Does moisture/humidity affect the materials
performance? No. Humidity and moisture does not affect the product’s
cure. You can even cure it underwater
|
What should I do if the material feels stiff and is hard
to get out of the container? Remove the lid and warm the material in
the microwave. Should you have a gallon unit in the metal can, just warm it in
the oven and then stir. Let the material cool back to room temperature or
expect an accelerated cure time.

What do I do if one of the liquid components turns white
and crystal like? Open the spout and “Nuke’ it in the microwave for no
more than 10 seconds at a time until it clears up. If you heat it too much at
once you take the risk of melting the bottle. Once clear, let the material cool
to room temperature before using.

How do I smooth or feather the material out? A
easy way to do that is to use a few ounces of water with a couple drops of dish
soap. Dip your gloved finger in the water solution and smooth the epoxy out.
|
What do I use for clean up? One can use
Denatured Alcohol, MEK, Laquer thinner, Xylol or Acetone for cleaning up.
However once the material is cured the items listed will be of no use.

How do I take something apart that was glued with your
material? If you need to take something apart a hammer is a good
option. However, if you can heat the area with a heat gun, getting the area
hot enough you might get lucky. Short of that you will need an epoxy stripper
of sort.

a year of shelf life. With proper care, keeping the lids on and
not cross contaminating one should exceed that by years. |
